چکیده

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are short, single-stranded, noncoding, highly conserved posttranscriptional regulators found in a variety of tissues including circulating blood.1 MicroRNAs regulate gene expression posttranscriptionally through inhibiting translation from and/or inducing degradation of specific RNAs.2 Certain miRNAs are expressed and function cell-type specifically or in association with particular physiological processes. MicroRNAs contribute to cardiac development and remodeling, and miRNAs found in cardiac tissue show dynamic changes in the setting of heart disease, suggesting their involvement in the regulation of cardiovascular disease (CVD). Mouse and human studies have emphasized the importance of individual miRNAs in different forms of CVD, including myocardial infarction (mirR-1, miR-133a, miR-208a, and miR-499), atrial and ventricular arrhythmias (miR-1, miR-133, and miR-328), fibrosis (miR-21 and miR29), and ventricular hypertrophy (miR-208 and miR-133).3–7

The role of microRNAs in cardiovascular disease

Cardiovascular disease has become the main factor of death and birth defects in the world. There are some therapeutic structures and drugs for curative and palliative therapy of the disease, but to the aim of accessing reliable therapy or to postpone onset of disease, especially for individuals with heritable coronary artery disease in their pedigree Genetic engineering technologies are making...

Circulating microRNAs as biomarkers and potential paracrine mediators of cardiovascular disease.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) comprise a class of small, noncoding RNAs that control expression of complementary target mRNAs. Dysregulation of intracellular miRNA expression has been described in various diseases, including a number of cardiovascular conditions. Functional studies have shown a role for miRNAs in cardiac fibrosis, hypertrophy, angiogenesis, and heart failure.1–3 These findings suggest a n...

Circulating microRNAs: biomarkers or mediators of cardiovascular diseases?

MicroRNAs (miRs) are small, noncoding RNAs that posttranscriptionally control gene expression by inhibiting protein translation or inducing target mRNA destabilization. Besides their intracellular function, recent studies demonstrate that miRs can be exported or released by cells and circulate with the blood in a remarkably stable form. The discovery of circulating miRs opens up intriguing poss...

Association between cytokines and two circulating micro-RNAs and development of premature ventricular contractions-induced cardiomyopathy

Objective(s): Recent progress in understanding the pathogenesis of premature ventricular contraction (PVC)-induced cardiomyopathy (PIC) has suggested a key role for inflammation. The aim of this study was to evaluate the expression of messenger RNAs (mRNAs) and the protein production of interleukin-6 (IL-6), IL-10, tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and interferon-γ (...

Circulating MicroRNAs: Potential and Emerging Biomarkers for Diagnosis of Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Diseases

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are composed of a group of endogenous and noncoding small RNAs which control expression of complementary target mRNAs. The extended functions of miRNAs enhance the complexity of gene-regulatory processes in cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Indeed, recent studies have shown that miRNAs are closely related to myocardial infarction, heart failure, atrial fibrillation...
